1½ Hour Rides

Our one-and-a-half-hour ride is an experience that everyone will enjoy. This ride passes through breathtaking scenery and takes us to spectacular views.

The ride begins at ranch headquarters and follows the trail out the back gate, through the gorgeous fern-lined Indian Canyon, past splashing waterfalls to an area we call Sweetwater. We stop here to water the horses and refresh ourselves. We then follow the trail that climbs out of the canyon, and ride up to the ridge. Here, we enjoy the dramatic vista: the rugged Santa Ynez Mountains, the Pacific Ocean, and the Channel Islands off the coast of Santa Barbara.

The thrill of seeing nature close up is yours on this ride. Sometimes, from our perch on the ridge of Indian Canyon, we can see hawks soaring on thermal currents. In the fall, we are treated to the splash of colors – reds, yellows, and oranges. In the spring, the wildflowers – lupine, poppies, and daisies - impress. No matter what time of year you take this trip, you will enjoy some of the most memorable nature trails and views on the California coast.
